—–THE DRUNKEN PHARAOH—-
What You’ll Need:
1 ½ ounces bourbon (Sephardic version)
1 ½ ounces 209 Kosher for Passover Gin (Ashkenazi version)
2 ounces Manischewitz wine
½ ounce lemon juice
Club soda, to top
Sugared matzo, for rimming the glass
How to Mix it:
To make the sugared Matzo rim…
Take a whole sheet of Matzo and crush it with the back of a spoon (or your hand) until it’s broken into small but coarse pieces.
Add 1 tbs of confectioners sugar to the matzo and mix it all up.
Coat the rim of a cocktail glass with simple syrup and then dip in the matzo mix.
Set aside and we’ll make our drink…
In a shaker filled with ice, combine the Bourbon or Gin, Manischewitz and Lemon Juice.
Strain into the rimmed cocktail glass.
Add a splash of club soda.
—-OUR EASTER WINE OF CHOICE—-
The lovely wine we found, San Antonio Heritage, to pair with our Easter meal is from the San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles, California. If you find yourself in L.A., it is definitely worth a visit! Located downtown, its restaurant and tasting room are a great way to experience a bit of LA history. For the location, restaurant menu, and more information, please visit sanantoniowinery.com.
